Portraits

There is something uniquely appealing about the tenderness and vulnerability of a young child who is not yet aware of being observed. When I first met my brother's grandson, Kaidan, it was fall in Ontario. We took Kaidan to a farm to choose his own Pumpkin for Halloween and he as awed by the whole adventure.  In 2016, I met his cousin, Kennedy, and it was love at first sight.  Both of them had an innocence and sense of wonder that enchants me and begs to be painted.  With later commissions I discovered that innocence, wonder and love, can be found in faces of all ages.  As you can see from the images, I continue to do portraits of people both young and old. Most of the portraits are in watercolour from photographs, though I occasionally work in acrylic.  To commission a portrait, click
